Charlie's Star Wars Birthday Party

Last week I arranged a Star Wars party for Charlie at our village hall. Everyone (27 kids!) had a brilliant time - here are just a few photos of the day:

Charlie, waiting for his guests to arrive.  You can just see the black tissuue pom poms and 3D stars hanging from the ceiling.

Charlie dressed up as REX

Cupcake toppers I made from coloured card and Charlie's invites, which had to be changed twice due to change of date and spelling mistake!

HIP HIP HOORAY - THE SUN HAS COME OUT TO PLAY

I am loving the sunshine, kids had the paddling pool out yesterday - I ordered Henrietta a LIMBO, a plastic protector for her cast - she can even go swimming in it, its brilliant.  No more washing her hair over the kitchen sink, tonight she can have a shower.

The pond resembled pea green soup last week, something had to be done.  I ordered a pump/filter all in one from Easyclear and just look at the results - I can now see my fish - yipee

I will leave you with a photo of Broccoli enjoying the sunshine, may this good weather continue

Broken Bones

It all started on Wednesday night, Henrietta had been at her friends house for tea, went to pick her up - she was busy having fun on the trampoline.  Watch me do this Mum, and hey presto.  Took her straight down to York Hospital, where they told us she had broken two major bones in her left arm.  Stayed in over night, she was then sent down for surgury on Thursday morning.  Hospital monitored her until late last night, then told us we could go home - thank goodness.

Happy 5th Birthday Charlie

It was Charlie's 5th Birthday yesterday, reason for late posting - Henrietta's broken arm (more about that later).

Inbetween sleeping at the hospital, I managed to return home on Thursday night to sort out Charlie's birthday (thank goodness his party isnt until next Sunday).  I put up his banner which I had made, then started on the cupcakes, which he insisted on taking to school - for all his class.  Thankfully I had made the cupcake toppers last week.

He woke up on Friday to find balloons, banners, presents, cards - it was such a shame it was just me and him celebrating (Neil was with Henrietta at the hospital - we were taking it in shifts to sleep over).

Henrietta was aloud home on Friday night, so we were all able to share his birthday.  His little smartie birthday cake went down a treat - he's having a star wars cake for his party.
I cannot believe he has turned 5 already.  Just where those 5 years have gone is anyone's guess.
Charlie, you make me smile and laugh everyday, I love you more than ever.  You will always be my little baby, no matter how old you are.

Happy Birthday Little Man

Swing Seat Re-Vamp

My swing seat is my fav place to sit with a nice cup of tea, but my old cushions were faded and looking pretty shabby.  As I am revamping the garden, I thought it would be nice to revamp the swing seat.  As I cannot use a sewing machine - tried, just cant master it - my Mum stitched me a wonderful cushion cover in stripe fabric.  I finished the whole look with 4 wonderful spotty cushions.  Im in heaven.
