Proud To Be British

What a magical day yesterday was.
The day was perfect in every way.  And Kate's dress - beautiful.
She looked just like a Princess.

Cheers Kate & William, you did us proud.

Sunny Sunday Morning

The sun is out again today - we are being spolit.

Saying that, I still have a cold, so the last thing I want to do is go and sit in the sun.  I havent really felt like sewing either (not like me), so yesterday I sat down with my ball of wool and made these:

POM POMS

Oh the joy of making these little soft pom poms, I think I now have a new addiction.  I am thinking of making them in red/white/blue - for the Royal Wedding.

A garland of pom poms is just what my craft corner needs.

You can find them here:  http://www.stripesandstars.etsy.com/

After the school holidays, I will be opening up another Stripes and Stars shop on Folksy - best get busy sewing up my stock.

Have a great day - enjoy the sunshine.

The Shop Is Now OPEN

At long last, the new Etsy shop is now open, and is even stocked.  More stock to go in, but its coming along nicely.

I have just added these felt iced cookies - brilliant for those little pretend 'tea parties'

Coughs and Colds

I have a dreadful cold, great timing or what - kids break up today.  I was going to attend the Church Service with school, but there's noway I can go, coughing, spluttering and spreading my germs.

Charlie had a hospital appointment with the consultant this morning, Thankfully Neil wasnt working away, so he was able to take him.  Great news, the consultant is really happy with Charlie's knee, he will see him again in 3 months time.  We are all keeping our fingers crossed that the arthritis doesnt turn up in another joint, or come back to his knee joint - only time will tell.

I can feel another sneeze coming on - now where did I put those tissues.

New Craft Cupboard

I have outgrown my craft cupboard.

What is a girl to do - well get a bigger one of course.

This one was an ebay find, shelves were put in there, and hey presto - a wardrobe turns into the perfect bigger craft cupboard.

My desk on the other hand could do with abit of a tidy.

Organizing A Birthday Party

Well, it's that time again - organizing Charlie's birthday party.  Can't quite believe its nearly a year since his Star Wars party - how time flies.

He has decided on a Mario party this year. I made his invites (30 of them) during half term, so we were able to hand them out last week.

I am really pleased how they have turned out, a real labour of love, all that cutting.  Each invite has 23 individual pieces, so that was 690 pieces of card I cut out BY HAND - phew.

These are just a few of them, I couldn't fit them all on the table.

New Rabbit

After saying the words "No, never again are we having another rabbit, its just too upsetting when they have to go to bunny heaven", we have gone and got another one.

Well, when I say we, I really mean me.

I saw him on the RSPCA website and just fell in love with him.  So here he is, meet Reggie the Rabbit (he already had the name, so we decided to keep it).  He will be 3 in August and was left at the RSPCA with a note saying that the owners couldn't look after him anymore.

As you can see from the photos, he is a house rabbit.  I'm just too soft, and couldn't bear the thought of him out there in the garden all alone.

Mother's Day

Hope all you Mummy's had a lovely Mother's Day yesterday.  Me and my sister sent my mum some flowers, as she lives so far away - hope you had a nice day Mum.

My sister came over with her two, and we all had a great time - eating and drinking.

I got sooooo many flowers, they ended up filling not one, not two but FOUR vases.  Thank you kids, thank you Neil.

Rec'd some other wonderful gifts from them too.  Both kids made Mothers Day cards at school, which are always so special.  All in all, a wonderful day was had by all.
