Happy Christmas

This will be my last posting before Christmas and maybe for the year, so if I do not post again, Happy New Year to you all - see you in 2010.

I am making this my last posting as I:
  1. Still have all my Christmas wrapping to do
  2. House needs a good tidy
  3. I am full of cold - I shouldnt really be shocked, I always get a cold just before the festive season - a good excuse to have a nice glass of Christmas Port

Just before the wintery weather arrived, I took a photo of my lovely tree in my garden.  I have no idea what sort of tree it is, but is seems to blossom every December - yeah you heard right - blossom.  The photo looks like it has been taken in the Spring, but was only taken a week ago.

The wintery weather is still with us, the snow in my garden is still here due to the freezing conditions.  I will leave you with a photo I took of my little bird house which hangs in my wonderful blossom tree.
Hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

See you in 2010

Snow Snow Everywhere

Two postings in one day, I really am on the ball.
Kids wanted to make the first snowman of the holidays on Friday, but hence the weather was just too cold for Charlie, so he watched me and Henrietta from the comfort of the lounge window (cant say I blame him).  The snow wasnt the kind that stuck, so our snowman was smaller than we would have liked - but cute all the same.

Hope you are all enjoying the wonderful Christmas snowy weather.

Hello Again

I'm here, at long last.  Sorry for those who have been following my blog.  I have been rubbish at updating it, and didnt realise how long it was since my last post - sorry sorry sorry.

Henrietta's 7th Birthday Party was brilliant, all the girls had the best time ever.  It was a hair and make-up party, thank you Vicky for making the party so successful.

Here's Henrietta with her hair done - such a sweetie

Bonfire Night - Birthday Girl

Oh my, Henrietta is 7 today.  It doesnt seem 2 minutes since I brought her home from the hospital.  She is having a party at home on Saturday.  Being a 'crafty' mum I made her banner and some beautful butterflies to hang from the ceiling - sorry about the out of focus pics!

Open For Business

My Etsy shop is now OPEN.  After nearly 2 weeks I have finally finished my painting.  Well nearly - the lounge window needs a coat of paint, but I do not need the scaffolding for this little job, so this can be done anytime.  I will be glad to get back to my sewing box and pile of felt - I have so many ideas, but may have left them alittle too late for Christmas - we will have to see how fast I can sew.

Anyone wanting wholesale orders/prices, please let me know.

Light-End-Tunnel

Finally I can see it - the light at the end of the tunnel.  Phew! its been a long hard slog.  My Etsy shop has been closed way longer than I ever thought, but I am hoping , fingers crossed it will be re-opened tomorrow.

Due to the rather nasty weather we have been having in the UK, painting has had to be put on hold.  I now only have the porch to paint though and I am done - thank goodness for that.

This by the way is not my porch, but oh how I would love it if it was - a lottery win would indeed be spent on a porch just like this - my dream

My kids had a professional photo shoot during the school holidays, here are a few of the gorgeous photographs Karen took - thank you Karen, you are quite simply brilliant at what you do (Black-Sheep Photography - Yorkshire).

This & That

Raining again this morning, so no painting, although it was nice to have a break from being up the scaffolding and not being able to feel your fingers cos you are so cold.  Instead cleaned out Tinkerbell (Henrietta's hamster), then started on the washing/drying/ironing.

Hopefully I will be able to open my Etsy shop in the next few days, here's a photo of my animal cracker cookies which will be available when the shop re-opens.

Felt Cake Order

Painting is still ongoing, and although I closed my Etsy shop down for a few days I forgot to close my MISI shop.  It was MISI's 1st Birthday the other day, and guess who's photo was on the front page of their special email, mine - thank you for that MISI.  I had an order to complete for a lady in France, were posted this morning from my lovely little village post office - these are the cakes I sent out.

Ribbons In A Tangle

Sorting through my ribbon box last night, I hadnt realised how messy it had become - another thing to add to my never ending list of 'things to do'.  Henrietta's invites were finished off last night, all were handed out to school friends this morning - she was so excited.  Birthday parties - dont you just love em!

Rain Rain Go Away

It's raining this morning, which means no painting.  I was hoping to get the gable end finished by tomorrow, but theres no chance of that now - oh well, thats life.  Decided to spring clean the kitchen instead.

I keep looking at my pile of ironing, in the hope that if I stare at it long enough, it will shrink - not working yet, but I will keep you posted.

Painting Platform

You may or may not have noticed that I have closed my Etsy shop down for a week or so.  The reason behind this is because I had a moment of madness the other day.  My lovely neighbours (Paul & Jordan) said I could borrow their scaffolding if I wanted to paint the outside of my house, so silly me said yes.  As you can see from the picture - it is pretty high.  I am just finishing off the gable end of the house, then its round to the front to paint the masonary, windows, porch and door - phew then it should be finished in time for Henrietta's 7th birthday party which is being held at home - something else to add to my never ending list.

Weekend Mist

It was so misty here at the weekend, the spiders in the garden had been very busy spinning lots of webs, had to take a picture of one of them, it looked so pretty.

Henrietta's sunflower has also come out in full bloom, amazing at this time of the year.  It looks wonderful and she is very proud of it.  I am more amazed that our rabbit (Broccoli) hasnt eaten it, as she tends to eat anything and everything.

I have decided now that the kids are older, I am going to have a pond in the garden.  This means moving things around abit, Broccoli's hutch will have to go to the other side of the lawn.  I will keep you all posted on my progress.  I just love to hear the sound of water, so the pond is going to have a fountain and lots of colourful fish too.

Baking

Charlie doesnt start school full time until after half-term, so on Friday afternoon we decided to bake some buns. Didnt have chance to take a picture of the finished product - they were eaten in minutes of coming out of the oven.
