A Little Treat For Me

As I have said in previous posts, I like to treat myself now and again.  Nothing too expensive, and something I need rather than something I want.  My faithful mugs had had their day and needed replacing.  As I am always looking for a bargain, I was highly delighted to spot these little beauties in my local Morrisons store - £3.00 for 4 cups, amazing.  I quickly purchased two sets.

My second treat was a tad bit more expensive, but a much needed addition to my life.  My old filofax had lost the will to live and it was time to say a sad goodbye.  I cannot be without my trusty filofax, I have to write everything down, as I have a brain like a sieve.  Spotted this handsome chappy on the Filofax website and knew he would keep me in order.

York In The Rain

York on Monday was wonderful, if not a little wet.  It rained almost all day, this however did not dampen our spirits.  We took shelter in Betty's cafe for tea and toasted tea-cake, eaten next to the warm cosy fire.

Walked past the beautiful York Minster, this picture was taken from Dean's Park.

We then had a browse round the shops and walked down the most famous street in York - The Shambles:

A trip to York wouldn't be the same without a look round everyones favourite.  Although Neil couldn't see what all the fuss was about - I told him 'its a woman thing'

Until next time - goodbye wonderful York - hey what am I talking about, I only live 30 mintues from the centre, have to admit, I don't visit as often as I should.

Blooming Flowers

Neil bought me my favourite flowers yesterday, roses and tulips.  The tulips remind me of my favourite time of year 'Spring'

After dropping the kids off at school tomorrow, we are off into York for a spot of lunch and a browse.  Hopefully I will remember to take my camera.

Freaky Looking

Is it just me, or do these freak anyone else out.  They seem to be everywhere.  They really do give me the heeby jeebies.

Also, these freak me out too, even more than the above.  Whenever they come on the telly I have to hide behind a cushion.

New Etsy Shop - coming soon

I have decided to open up another Etsy shop.  My other shop only sells embellishments, but I am wanting my new shop to sell new and exciting products.  My project book is full of ideas just waiting to be made.  I will keep you posted on my progress.

In the meantime, this is the wonderful banner Mandy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/stylemesweetdesign made up for me.  Check out her shop - it really is amazing.

Thank you Mandy, you are a superstar....x

Going Cold Turkey

coldturkey.jpgI have not been able to sleep for the last two nights.  When I say no sleep, I mean I have clock watched and seen every hour.  Christmas was wonderful, with lots of rich food and lots more wine.  Yes the wine is the reason for my lack of sleep - I am going cold turkey.

2011 New Year Resolutions

2011 is the year of the Rabbit - this could be your year Broccoli.  She turns eight at the end of the month - bless her.  She's a real grump on a morning, but she is good company and will sit for hours under the kitchen table.

OK, now onto the dreaded resolutions, which I make every year, but never stick to any of them for more than a month.  This year is going to be different (hey, don't I say that every year):

* go to bed earlier
* drink less wine and drink more water (this one just seems impossible)
* attend the gym at least 3 times a week (who am I kidding)
* spend less time on the computer and more time crafting
* loose 10 pounds (not from my purse)
* don't loose my rag with the kids
* keep the house tidy at all times
* keep the ironing pile down to an acceptable level
* update my blog at least once a week

May all your troubles last as long as your New Year's Resolutions!

HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy New Year to all my followers.  Hope you all had a great night.  Still can't quite believe it's 2011 already.

I have some exciting plans for this year.  I am opening a new shop on Etsy, with new products in the pipeline.  I'm also hoping to do lots of craft fairs this year.

I will hopefully get to a point where I can juggle family life, helping out at the local primary school and my love of crafting.  Lots of lists are needed for this task, but I'm determined to succeed.

Haven't managed to post any Christmas photos, here are a few of the decorations before they are taken down for another year.
