Bad News, Sad News, Happy News

I haven't blogged for ages, but for reasons which will be explained.

Bad News:  Charlie has been diagnosed with childhood arthritis.

Been abit of a nightmare - having to visit 2 different hospitals for treatment.  He will be at Leeds for steroid injections (in his knee) on Wednesday, then it's York Hospital on Thursday to see the consultant.  We then need to visit York again for a specialist eye test, as arthritis could damage his eye sight, he may just need drops for this.

Charlie being Charlie is bearing up well, he finds it difficult to walk down the steps in the morning, and normally comes down on his bum.  Hopefully the injections will work - they can stay in the system for up to 8 months - I will keep you all updated.

Sad News:  We had to have Broccoli (our beautiful bunny) put to sleep last week.  She had lost use of her back legs - the vet also said that something was amiss with her bladder.

She was 8 years old, and as a rescue bunny, I feel very proud to have given her a wonderful life.  She ate all my plants in the garden, chewed through one of my kitchen chairs and was as stubborn as they come.  Still, I know she is running around in 'bunny heaven' with her soulmate 'Lettuce'

We loved her very much and she is very sadly missed.

Happy News: My very dear friend Kathryn had a little baby girl last week - welcome to the world Willow Mae, can't wait to see you and give you a great big cuddle.

A Little Treat For Me

As I have said in previous posts, I like to treat myself now and again.  Nothing too expensive, and something I need rather than something I want.  My faithful mugs had had their day and needed replacing.  As I am always looking for a bargain, I was highly delighted to spot these little beauties in my local Morrisons store - £3.00 for 4 cups, amazing.  I quickly purchased two sets.

My second treat was a tad bit more expensive, but a much needed addition to my life.  My old filofax had lost the will to live and it was time to say a sad goodbye.  I cannot be without my trusty filofax, I have to write everything down, as I have a brain like a sieve.  Spotted this handsome chappy on the Filofax website and knew he would keep me in order.

York In The Rain

York on Monday was wonderful, if not a little wet.  It rained almost all day, this however did not dampen our spirits.  We took shelter in Betty's cafe for tea and toasted tea-cake, eaten next to the warm cosy fire.

Walked past the beautiful York Minster, this picture was taken from Dean's Park.

We then had a browse round the shops and walked down the most famous street in York - The Shambles:

A trip to York wouldn't be the same without a look round everyones favourite.  Although Neil couldn't see what all the fuss was about - I told him 'its a woman thing'

Until next time - goodbye wonderful York - hey what am I talking about, I only live 30 mintues from the centre, have to admit, I don't visit as often as I should.

Blooming Flowers

Neil bought me my favourite flowers yesterday, roses and tulips.  The tulips remind me of my favourite time of year 'Spring'

After dropping the kids off at school tomorrow, we are off into York for a spot of lunch and a browse.  Hopefully I will remember to take my camera.

Freaky Looking

Is it just me, or do these freak anyone else out.  They seem to be everywhere.  They really do give me the heeby jeebies.

Also, these freak me out too, even more than the above.  Whenever they come on the telly I have to hide behind a cushion.

New Etsy Shop - coming soon

I have decided to open up another Etsy shop.  My other shop only sells embellishments, but I am wanting my new shop to sell new and exciting products.  My project book is full of ideas just waiting to be made.  I will keep you posted on my progress.

In the meantime, this is the wonderful banner Mandy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/stylemesweetdesign made up for me.  Check out her shop - it really is amazing.

Thank you Mandy, you are a superstar....x
