I always seem to have a faberoonie excuse for not posting - here's todays explanation: Ive been decorating.
I have lived with my nasty wallpaper (on the lounge walls) for 3 years (since moving in) and just couldnt stand it any longer. Its not that the wallpaper offended me in anyway - it was the way it was put on the walls. Every piece overlaped the other. The border (which I loathe) was joined in 3 places on each wall - the pattern not being lined up - hey, I think you get the picture.
So after wallpaper stripping, sanding the walls (to an inch of their lives) I have finally got round to the painting stage. I have completed the stairs and landing - waiting for my new carpet (oh the excitiment), the lounge should be finished by Tuesday. Im off to IKEA this morning to purchase some toy storage (at last I will be able to hide all the kids toys away instead of them being on permanent show).
Im hoping to post some pics of finished project next week - have a great Sunday (the sun is shining - at long last)

Garden Bunting
As you might know, I cannot use a sewing machine, never have never will.
I wanted some bunting for my garden, but as I am on a saving spree (camping holiday coming up), I didnt want to spend any money. Felt bunting didnt sound too convincing, but hey why not give it a go. With a little encouragement from Jenny over at Winnibriggs I made some bunting and tied it to the swing seat. Have to admit, Im pretty pleased with it - Im thinking of making some to put on the fence.
Hooray for felt bunting - Im hooked.

Charlie's Got The Chickens
Oh well, it had to happen sooner or later - Charlie has Chicken Pox. He's been quite ill with them too, although not that ill, he can still manage to eat his favourite cream biscuit. Any suggestions for remedies etc would be appreciated

Riccall Carnival 2010
What a fab weekend we had. It was Riccall Carnival, lots of things to do and see. As parking is pretty limited up at the community centre, the organisers put on a double decker bus to pick up the villagers and take them to the fair - what a brilliant idea.
Henrietta wanted her face painting, by the very talented Dawn Smith
Who turned my daughter into a beautiful .......................
.................................. butterfly
Also at the carnival were some gorgeous vintage cars, Charlie liked the little red bubble car - and who could blame him
The weather was just perfect, which meant lots of villagers
My friend Helen had a stall selling her wonderful Phoenix Trading cards. These are just the most beautiful cards you can buy. Visit her here to see more: www.phoenix-trading.eu/web/helendrye
Charlie won what I thought was an owl on the raffle - he quickly informed me it was a baby penguin, still not convinced.
On Sunday, we packed up a picnic and headed for the village green, where there was a live singer, rides for the kids, drum playing - dont ask, you can just see my two in the bottom left of the photograph - Charlie has an orange top on and Henrietta has a black vest top on
The kids really enjoyed themselves, it was such a wonderful weekend. Its great when the village comes together like this - I really cant imagine living anywhere else.

Sunny Garden
My garden is not the biggest you will ever see, infact compared to most, its more like postage stamp size, but I love it. Here I share a few photos:
This part of the garden gets the sun in the morning, and becomes shady in the late afternoon.
The kids corner which gets the sun all day. The swing seat is a lovely place to sit at the end of the day where you can enjoy the evening sunshine. Broccoli the Bunny has managed to get in this photo
The pond still needs finishing off - hopefully soon, and afew more plants to be added.
Its Riccall Carnival this weekend, I have displayed afew of my felt goodies in the village church. There will be stalls, face painting, rides etc at the village community centre. Sunday sees the village green open to a live singer, we are going to take a picnic - hopefully lots of photos next week
Whatever you are doing this weekend - I hope its a sunny one.....x
